We have already talked about what are the advantages of polyurethane molds. But how do we mold the polyurethane and what steps precede it?
In the case of Sd Stampi, an exclusive company in Modena dedicated to polyurethane molds, the “artifact” or anyway the idea is planned in advance.
The design takes place thanks to sophisticated IT technologies, through which the customer’s needs and requests are met.
After which cold or injection molding is carried out directly or indirectly.
And finally, there is the assembly, painting, chrome plating and resin coating of the product.
But be careful. The process does not end after these operations. Printing polyurethane also and above all means paying the utmost care and attention to the mold.
What does it mean?
That particular materials or substances must be used to protect the project.
- Release agents, or the tools that allow the perfect detachment of the mold and the protection of the walls of the same. It can be water or solvent based.
- Lubricants, which are used to allow effective mobility of the product.
- Protective, which act as a barrier, extend the life of the mold and safeguard its structural elements.
- Detergents, which counteract all polluting agents and defend the lives of operators.
